Golden Horse Cosmetics

Have you ever heard of Golden Horse Cosmetics? It's not one of the top brands, but it's like a miracle cream. I can't believe it at first, but on the first application you can already see a big difference. But my skin is oily. Maybe I'll have to use the oily skin set.

I've been using the Golden Horse Best Cream. It helps in all kinds of ways; it lessens the excess oil, moisturizes, makes the skin feel soft and smooth, and best of all, it brightens the skin immediately! Oh, it can also be used as a foundation. Maybe it works like a tinted moisturizer, paste type. It is the best cream ever. But I must say, honestly, even though I love this cream, last time when I first bought it, I used it for nearly a month but by then my skin starts to break out. I have oily face but I don't have outbreaks. So it kind of shocked me. Then I stopped using it for more than half a year, and when I tried it again, I'm starting to love it all over again. This time I'm going to keep using it and see if the same thing happens again. If it does, I'll have to use the oily skin cream. Here's a picture of the cream I'm using:

And here's a photo of Bio Complex cream, for oily skin:

Here's what I'm planning to buy next:

They are not very expensive. They are listed in my list of under-budget products. :)

Broken Doll Makeup

I tried to upload the video but it won't upload so I kind of gave up. I'll just show you the end result. Tell me what you think!

The last picture is the makeup without the cracks. I still need to brush up on my skills. I will upload the Broken Doll Makeup video and Vampire Makeup video as soon as I possibly can (the thing won't upload! I tried compressing and everything but it doesn't work... The video is around 20minutes and I want to upload it into my blog. Can anyone tell me why there's always an error when I tried uploading the video? It's in .wmv format).

Vampire Makeup

I was free, so I decided to do something-- I made a video of my vampire makeup! It's weird all right, but I think it's quite an experience to have done such makeup on myself. Yeah, in case you are wondering, as far as I can remember, this is the first time I've tried vampire makeup. So cool! Check these out:

No need to grow fangs or buy the fakes! Just draw them on your lips! Looks realistic too right? But the problem is, the white eyeliner won't stick on my lips. I have to find a liner that sticks, smudge-proof and waterproof! Anyone can recommend any? Thanks! :D

Hair Chalk

How cool is this?? A new trend item in Malaysia! Hair chalk! It's chalk, also known as soft pastels, and you color your hair with it. It has a variety of colors, and they are easy to apply. When applied, the chalk will look something like this:

They can be fluorescent or dark, depends on the color you chose to apply. I think not many Malaysians know about this yet. And I think this is cool. But it will be a bit hard to do on dark hair-- you'll need to apply more to make it more vibrant. Examples on dark hair:

It all depends on the color! Try it! I bought it on eBay, but it hasn't arrived yet. It was delivered from Hong Kong, so it may take longer to arrive. Hopefully it'll arrive before Halloween! I'm planning to use it on Halloween. Oh, did I mention? This hair chalk is temporary. It'll come off after 2-3 times of shampooing. And it won't damage your hair! When I receive my hair chalk, I'll post pictures and I'll show you how to apply it on your hair. It's cheap, by the way. I bought 6 colors for RM19. I can't wait!! ^^

Some Asshole

Some people just LOVE to get us into trouble. Yeah I'm one of their victims. They just won't leave you alone-- they stalk, they observe, and leave horrifying comments on Facebook, Twitter or whatever else social websites you're using. You won't even notice that they've had their eyes on you, but after a while you suddenly REALIZE there's a stalker who have always wanted your attention, whether it's in a good way or a bad way. It just ticks you off and actually ruined your day!!! This is what happened to me!

I realize that this guy (or should I say, a piece of shit) have been watching me. How else does he know about my weakness? About my pictures? He's a friend of a family member, and before this happened, I looked up to him (not that much, only because he is older than me). It turns out that some people are just not what it seems. What angers me most is that because of him, I was scolded for what doesn't need to be scolded unless said!! That asshole will pay for doing this to me. I swear it. He's going to be sooooo sorry for what he has done to me.

p/s: He just ruined my day.

My Halloween Ideas

I always get so excited when Halloween comes. I always plan to do everything; trick or treating, carving Jack-o-Lanterns and putting on scary makeup and clothing. But these things aren't fun if done alone. So I decided to ask my friends to do a reunion this Halloween. Sadly, 97% of them are not interested. Only me and my two best buddies. But I think the three of us going will be more than enough fun. So I don't feel so bad about it. I don't have many friends, but when I do, I get a best friend. To me, friends are people that we can recognize and know their first name, and have met and had some conversations together. Acquaintances are people that we have talked to but can't remember their names.

As far as I know, I've had a few best friends, some stabbed me in the back and some would die for me. No matter what, I appreciate them and I am thankful that they were there before they betrayed me.

Back to the topic: Anyone have any fantastic ideas on Halloween costumes?? I thought about hair color, which led me to Google types of temporary hair colors. The next thing I knew, I've just bought a set of chalk hair color from eBay, and I expect it to be delivered in the next 15 days. The color will come off after 2-3 times of shampooing. It comes in 6 colors which can be picked manually from the picture given, and it's around RM19. Not bad for 6 types of hair colors! I hope I won't regret this. I hope I won't regret any of the purchases I made online. Because I know I'll be making more purchases sooner or later.

So, I guess I'll temporarily color my hair, put on broken doll makeup, wear weird clothes and my punk lolita platform shoes, and some cute yet scary accessories.

These are my platform shoes:

This is the makeup I'm going for:

This is the dress I'll be wearing:

I'm going to wear the dress with black leggings and black long-sleeved round collar shirt.

What do you think? Does it look like what I aim for? I aim for Gothic, Dolly, and Lolita. Because I'm going as a gothic broken doll! How about accessories? I have no idea. I have to come up with something. But the thing that bugs me most is my hair!! I don't know how to style it!! Can anyone recommend any styles that could flatter my face shape, and is stylish enough for Halloween night?????

Beauty Tips from me!

While waiting the video uploading, here are some beauty tips I'd like to share with my readers:

  • Got chapped lips? Apply Vaseline. It's a very good substitute for lip balm. Lip balms are pricey, a palm-sized jar of Vaseline only costs RM4.50. I've got this habit of chewing on my lips. As a result, my lips became very sensitive, it gets chapped very easily because I never notice that I've been chewing on my lips until someone told me so. But I won't chew on them if I'm wearing something on my lips. So I always, ALWAYS wear lip balms, even while sleeping at night. I can't afford to buy good lip-balms all the time, so I decided to invest in Vaseline instead. I apply Vaseline on my lips everyday, every night on my lips. Since then, my lips have become soft, smooth and plump. And my habit has started to go away little by little. Try it! You will surely smile more often. :)
*Vaseline can also be applied on dry areas on your skin, such as the sides of your feet, your heels or elbows. It works like magic. I've also read somewhere that Vaseline can help to keep Jack-o-Lanterns from rotting fast. But you'll have to dry your masterpiece first before you apply Vaseline on its insides. Vaseline is made of 100% Pure Petroleum Jelly (Petrolatum).
  • Can't afford makeup remover? Use baby oil instead. It's cheaper (around RM5 for a small bottle), it removes makeup easily and it's gentle to the skin. I prefer Johnson's Baby Oil. Try the purple-colored bottle. It's made for bedtime, so it helps to soothe and calm the mind so we can sleep better.
  • Take care of your skin, especially around your neck and eyes. Once those places starts to sag, believe me, you'll look 3 years older than your real age. How to take care of them? Prevent it from sagging! Moisturize, moisturize and moisturize! You should wash your neck and behind your neck because that's where dirt and old cells reside. Use moisturizing cream on your neck too. As for the skin around your eyes, you should be very gentle with it. It's much more thinner than the other areas on your face, so don't use scrub often there. If possible, invest in some eye creams. If not, get enough sleep! The latter is always the best choice though. But by doing both you'll look amazing even without makeup. Trust me!
  • Brittle nails? Well, there's nothing worse than that. I've got brittle nails too, and they often chip. So I can't keep my nails long. But when I do, I invest in a nail-hardening nail polish. It's good, and that's all I can think of for a quick fix.

If there are any more tips you'd like to share with me, please don't hesitate to leave comments! I'd love to know! (^_^)v

My First Tutorial Video

I'm so excited! I just made a tutorial for "broken porcelain doll" makeup. But the video's a bit too long... Hopefully the viewers won't get bored. My video is not planned at all; actually I was just fooling around with my makeup, thinking about my makeup for Halloween. I've planned to go as a broken porcelain doll, so I thought, maybe I should practice doing my makeup. And the result actually got many likes on my Facebook! Even people who never liked any of my posts like it. I am so excited. I want to upload the video on YouTube, but it's very slow. I think I'll have to wait another 3 hours. Tiring!

Drawings

I think I have never mentioned this before, but I do have a drawing talent. I can draw lots of things, but I am not really good in coloring. Here are some samples that I've drawn using a touch-screen phone program (No tools used--promise! Just color pencils and eraser):

(original character!)

This is Ink, my childhood comic character that I created. I was 8 years old, and I made some comics on my own using school exercise books. A friend of mine; Aliff Haiqal Akmal, if I'm not mistaken, is my childhood friend who has been cooperating with me in drawing the comics. But Ink is an original character made by myself (proud of it!). It was fun. But I really wish I can find my old own-made comic books. I've lost them all, unfortunately. :(

All of these are drawn by me. I used to be really quick with my hand; I can draw an anime person within a few minutes. But now I think my skills are starting to fade; my drawings are not as pretty as they used to be, and I've become a slowpoke. I should draw more and sharpen my skills. Maybe I could draw & sell potraits by the streets one day. I can make at least RM20 for a quick sketch! :D

Is My Blog Useful?

Ahoy mateys!! I need some of your feedbacks. I've been updating this blog for quite a while, and I've been wondering if my blog is of any use to you. Please leave some comments or subscribe to show that you say "YES" as an answer to my question! :)

Back to VK, Brothers & Sisters!

I've got loads of stuff in my mind, I can't really focus on bands anymore! But next week is final, I'll be sending my reports to my supervisor and I'll graduate for sure!! Finally!! \(^0^)/
I think I might be able to continue my obsession with Visual Kei soon. Wait... am I getting too old for this? I hope not! Hahaha!! *ehem*
Well, somehow, sorry for not being able to update on your favorite bands' blogs anymore. I'm getting more & more obsessed with makeup. I think I'll post some stuff on how to do vk makeup gangnam style! Haha! (just kidding)
Maybe I'll be doing posts on vk makeup and clothings. Please tell me about your thoughts on this! Thanks! :)

Eyeliners

Can anyone recommend me any branded but cheap gel eyeliner? Such as Maybelline or IN2IT? Today I just bought a cheap gel eyeliner, just to see how gel eyeliner feels like. I usually wear pencil eyeliner, it's easy to apply and I can smudge it to get the smokey-eyed look. But it transfers too much, it gets under my eye and over my eyelid as well, probably because of my oily skin. I like to use highly-pigmented, soft, creamy and easy-to-apply kind of eyeliner, so I usually end up using ones that are not smudge-proof or waterproof. Pencil eyeliners which are waterproof and smudge-proof are kind of hard to apply on my skin; the colors won't show easily. The skin around my eye is sensitive, so it's pretty painful when applying it, because I'll have to line my eyes many times to force the color out and get the density I want. So, to end my frustrating days with pencil eyeliners, I decided to try the 2nd easiest kind of eyeliner to apply: the liquid kind.

Liquid eyeliners are said to be quite hard to apply, especially for those with shaky hands. I've solved that part though. Try this: When lining your eye with the liquid eyeliner, place your elbow (the one lining your eye) on a stable furniture (on your dressing table, for example). Then line your eyes LIKE A BOSS. ;D

In my opinion, liquid eyeliner is better than pencil eyeliners. Once you get hold of the lining, you'll enjoy lining your eyes using liquid eyeliners. It's non-transferable, unlike pencil eyeliners, and the color is always dense. But, you'll have to wait for it to dry, and you can't smudge it to get the smokey-eyed look. Some even made my eyelids burn until my eyes are teary because it hurts so much. Some liquid eyeliners are flaky once it's dry; they kind of crack and most of them flakes away when rubbed. It's not hard to wash off, but they sure are annoying when it comes into contact with water or touch; they flake really easily. But others washes off easily with or without eye makeup remover.

Nowadays I feel like trying out new stuff. So I bought a cheap gel eyeliner, just to try it out. I've read that gel eyeliners in cream form is better than gel (yeah I don't understand that statement either, but I guess it means that gel eyeliners that are creamy instead of gel-ly is better). Gel eyeliners come in small glass pots. Some brands supply a brush, and some don't. But it's a chore to keep the brush inside my make-up bag. I have no idea how to keep it from touching my other cosmetics except wrapping the brush in a tissue paper and tying it up using a rubber band. I haven't used it yet, but that's what I've been thinking since buying it just now. Can anyone give me some tips on gel eyeliner?? I'm not really planning to use this gel eyeliner everyday; I bought it especially for my Halloween make-up. I need highly pigmented, non-smudging and waterproof kind of gel eyeliner, because I'm going to be a broken porcelain doll. So I need pitch black eyeliner to draw and fill up the cracks. =]

I wonder what kohl eyeliner feels like? But I don't intend on purchasing it though. *_*

Hair Extensions

Today I’ll post about hair extensions. Here's what I bought a few months ago:

As you would've guessed, it's a hot pink synthetic clip-on hair extension. I think it’s fun to try out new stuff, so I bought it for the first time, without any valuable knowledge about hair extensions. Plus, as far as I’m concerned, as long as it doesn’t damage my real hair, it’s ok to try it out.

Clip-on extensions are cheap (at least cheaper than a wig or doing permanent hair extension at the saloon), and they don’t damage our hair like how permanent extensions do. I’ve had some thoughts on permanent extensions but after some research I think it’s better if I put those thoughts away. I want long hair, but I can never seem to keep it long. That is why I’ve been browsing for wigs for quite a while. But god, wigs are damn expensive!!! So are permanent extensions!!!

So I settled for clip-on extensions. They’re easy to wear, but for me, it’s kind of hard to manage. Maybe it’s because of my lack of knowledge. So I started doing some research on fake hair.

Visual kei artists, cosplayers, Lolita style lovers and any fashionista should know about hair extensions and wigs. They often use very natural-looking wigs—it made them look like they actually dyed their hair instead of wearing wigs. I really like to see how they styled themselves for concerts, outings and cosplays. They look fantastic after the styling session! As you can see, vk bands use wigs and exensions a LOT. How else can they grow such long hair within a month? At first I wondered if there’s a tonic to make your hair grow faster. That was when I had no idea that wigs and extensions existed! (O_O)

So, after some research on fake hair, I found out that permanent extensions offer simple and fast pretty hair, but you’ll end up with frizzy and damaged hair when you take them off. It IS called PERMANENT HAIR EXTENSION, so obviously you’ll be wearing them for a long time. You can check out this video on how this model got her hair sewn with permanent extensions.

Diandra Forrest Hair Sew In

I heard that during the sewing, your scalp will feel like it’s going to be ripped off your skull. Scary huh? To me, hurting yourself isn’t worth it. Of course she doesn’t mind her hair being damaged, it’s part of her job to look fabulous at all times, even if it’s fake. So even if her hair is damaged like hell, she could just cut it again and do another sew in extension. We, commoners, don’t really have much money to do it all the time like she does. Having permanent extension at the saloon are quite expensive. Unless you’re really enslaved to beauty, I think this won’t work. At least not for me.

Wigs, on the other hand, is easier to wear, and some say it’s easy to manage too. I think it all depends on the type of material—whether it’s synthetic or real human hair. I guess synthetics are much harder to maintain, especially the cheaper ones. If the material used for the hair strands can’t stand heat, it will frizz up immediately when ironed. It will also be a chore to wash it; it’ll be like washing plastic. As for the permanent extensions, you can wash it like normal, but you’ll have to be careful not to be so harsh on it. You’ll have to wash it carefully using mild shampoo. But sooner or later, the hair strands will come off, so when it starts thinning, you know it’s time to make that decision: either treat your damaged hair or set up another appointment for permanent extension at the saloon. If you do plan to do so, be sure to ask your stylist on how to take care of your hair extension AND real hair better, so that it lasts longer and see if you could help lessen the damage. It’s like consulting a doctor, really. But do think of the consequences. Wigs comes in a variety of colors, length and style. I love how cute the cosplayers look when they wear Hatsune Miku’s wigs, they’re so long and because of the unnatural color, they look like real life Hatsune Miku! Maybe I’ll try wigs too.

Whether it’s permanent or clip-on extensions or wigs, it is still best to go for human hair, but I’m kind of scared that the hair might be some dead people’s hair and will come to haunt me…  Geez. Scary!

Last Week for This Semester

So this is the last week of this semester. Thank GOD! I'm looking forward to get my hands on the diploma :D But for now, I really have to concentrate on my report... Help!!!
