Maybelline White Superfresh Long Lasting UV Cake Powder Review

Today I'll do a review on this new product: Maybelline White Superfresh Long Lasting UV Cake Powder. It is categorized as "powder" in the Maybelline website.

These are the colors currently available:

I'm using Honey, by the way.

Overall, for a girl with normal-to-dry skin, I'd say this is a pretty good product. It claims to be lightweight and does not oxidize, which attracted me like a moth to the light. In my experience, it stayed on for 8 hours without needing touch-ups. I actually wore this as a foundation because I thought it feels like one, although not as heavy.
The texture is superfine, smooth on touch. It came with a sponge applicator. They also sell refills.

This photo was taken AFTER 8 hours of shopping. The pores on my bare face is almost invisible so I have no problem using this. Girls who have rough skin, big pores, extreme discoloration and/or VERY visible scars should NOT buy this, as it only gives light coverage. It is proven to not oxidize, which is wonderful.
I had been wearing concealer under my eyes and it doesn't cling to the concealer. The powder held it in place (I'm using Maybelline Pure Minerals Concealer). It doesn't cover much, but it doesn't feel heavy on the skin. Feels like my skin is able to breathe through the powder..
My face doesn't have much scarring but I do have discoloration (UV spots). I also don't get too oily or sweaty on my face, so I think it's perfect for me.

Repurchase? YES!
RP: RM23.90
I bought it for RM15 on Watson's holiday sale XD
Being on a tight budget, this is worth every cent!

Naturactor Cream Foundation Review

It's an amazing day-- I got this new cream foundation called Naturactor by Meiko, originally from Japan. This creamy darling is AMAZING!!! I never thought it will be possible for me to get a save-my-ass foundation for under RM50. This only costs me RM35 (but it is still expensive to me T-T). So here is how it looks like:

This product is made in Japan. Some are made in China, but the formula is from Japan. Some people do not understand that when the product is said to be made in China, it means the items/formula are IMPORTED from the main factory and is then ASSEMBLED or MIXED in China. It DOES NOT mean that it is fake. Well, at least not all of them. You have to know your stuff. Stickers are a sure-fire sign to know if they are fake or original.

Overall, it smells good, very thick, but wipes off easily. Dewy finish, which is very nice. Heavy coverage, so people with brutal scars can also use this LOL. It is a bit messy to apply because using a brush or sponge is NOT RECOMMENDED. So use your magic fingers. Take care not to wipe or touch your face while wearing it. People with wrinkles are NOT ADVISED to use this. It cracks at the lines so it is definitely not suitable for people with wrinkles. I have under-eye wrinkles and smile lines so it is not for me even though the formula is so awesome (T^T)

So only buy these babies when you are confident that you do not have wrinkles or fine lines on your face. Or else you'll end up like me; gave it away to a friend because I can't use it without it cracking on my lines (T^T)

I have another colleague that I did her makeup too, unfortunately I didn't get a clear BEFORE picture, and her makeup (AFTER picture) was not clear in the picture (bad lighting). Sorry I couldn't include her in these reference pics!

But here are the picture of the four of us:

Also some not-to-miss shots:

We brought everything we had... Amateur makeup junk XD

I envy my colleague's eyeshadow palette >.<

Focus is on Parkson's plastic bag!

Let's go travelling!

The bunny girl!

The too-happy-to-care ribbon girl....

I have nothing to say here XD

That tired look on her face...

Epic photobomb!

To those who read Dragon Ball... TRANSFORM!!! (Becomes the one in the middle)

This pretty collage is made by my friend... That second picture was when I was picking out which ribbon is worth buying XD
Thanks to her, I get two ribbons! She got them for me ^^

Cosmoderm Vitamin E 3000 I.U Cream Review

Vitamin E is really a great help for the skin. So is rosehip oil. Both known for their abilities to repair damaged skin and restore its lost youthfulness. Before using this cream, My skin was dry, and is always prone to flaking, even though it was quite oily. When I first started using this, the cream doesn't feel so good on my skin on the first application, but as I'm massaging the cream into my skin, it felt better and better. After I'm done applying the cream and massaging it in, I can say that this cream actually makes my skin more hydrated and it feels as if I've just worn a hydration mask. It is amazing, doesn't make the skin break out, makes my skin feel smooth and supple, and recent acne scars fade in a week. Also, it is a pretty good makeup base. My makeup stays longer while my skin still feels moisturized and protected. It's a great feeling (Trust me, I'm a makeup freak).
I recommend this cream to people with dry, scaly, flaky and dehydrated skin, sensitive skin, combination skin and normal skin. People with oily skin might not like the oiliness that builds up over time.

Starting from this review onwards, I'm going to give a 1 to 10 rating, a how-to guide, show pros and cons and its eligibility of repurchasing.

How to Use:
After removing makeup, thoroughly wash the face and apply toner. Then, smother a coin-sized cream all over face, and massage it in for 1 minute.

Pros:
  • Doesn't make the skin break out
  • Helps fade recent acne scars in a week
  • Great moisturizer for dry and dehydrated skin, so no more scaly skin!
  • After massaging face with the cream, skin looks and feels plump (with moisture)
  • Easy to use
  • Can use on other parts of the body too
  • Suitable for sensitive skin
  • No offensive smell
  • A surprisingly good makeup base
  • Hypo-allergenic
  • Not tested on animals
  • 100% plant-based ingredients
Cons:
  • Quite oily, since it contains rosehip oil
  • Takes a very long time to diminish wrinkles and old scars
  • Has no noticeable effect on freckles

OVERALL RATING: 7 out of 10
REPURCHASING: MAYBE

Rice Milk Soap by K. Brothers Review

Sooo, today I will be sharing about this rice milk soap---

These are K. Brothers Rice Milk Soaps. These are herbal moisturizing soaps which are enriched with vitamin B. It claims to be able to lighten and even out skin tone, get rid of acne or pimples WITHOUT any side effects. You can use it all over your body and face, and is suited for all skin types. Sounds pretty good, no?

I'm using the purple one, it's a rice milk+collagen soap. Why collagen? Well, my skin has actually changed from oily to dry, so wrinkles appear even more than just subtle. Maybe it's because of the change in hormones as I am entering my "adult phase"... Well anyway, this soap has a really pleasing smell of rice (duh), and really foamy! I use it twice a day, morning and night. On my first usage, my skin was tingly and it stings a little during & after using it. I have no idea why. Maybe because of the acidic (or alkaline) property of the soap? Well, it only stings on the first use. The next day, it was fine. but mind you, the soap is NOT tear-free, it stings like hell when it gets into my eyes (or nose!). So be careful... But it removes make-up better than normal make-up remover. Seriously.

Overall, after using this for a 3-4 days, I do notice some improvements on my skin. I notice the reduction of wrinkles around my nose area, and my skin became slightly whiter. And when I use it with Vitamin E cream, my skin just GLOWS. I love it.

Oh yes, Vitamin E is really a good food for the skin! I'll talk about that later in my next post. またね!

Fuyuki Kuroda, my new Japanese sim :3

This is my new sim, Fuyuki Kuroda! She is a traditional Japanese ninja-like person.. in the modern days. Well, she wears kimono for her everyday and formal wear, and hakama for her athletic outfit.  She inspires to be an international super spy (a ninja I guess? I really hope one day EA will make a Japanese EP...).

However I do not plan on uploading her yet, but maybe I will when I get to make another sim soon. So keep your fingers crossed!

Mochi-Making

Tried to make mochi using glutinous rice flour (can't find sweet glutinous rice powder).
I boiled half a pot of water n put them in (like making "buah Melaka") and waited for it to rise up and scooped them out, and rolled them around in tapioca powder+fine sugar mix. Oh, I did add some fine sugar with the glutinous rice flour, just to give a little hint of sweetness.

This is how it turns out. Doesn't taste so bad, but it's really plain. I should've stuffed them with peanut or something. It's also a little too chewy. Of course, I did make this out of boredom so I don't expect much. -_-

But I'll try harder next time. Mochi-making is really not as easy as we all think! We need the right ingredients to make it. Please don't follow this weird recipe. This is just to share my awkwardness in the kitchen. Should any Japanese chef read this, please DO tell me how to make mochi the right way!
